GA Cyclist and GA Bike Rider Attorney

bike wreck

Just in time for the July 4th weekend, a new traffic law was passed and took effect on July 1st. This new law is to improve the safety of cyclists in Georgia, which came just in time to be beneficial for riders as 4th of July parades occurred. With the new law motorists must be at least 3 feet away from the cyclist when passing. The old law was vague in its description of a safe distance, which for some negligent motorist meant nearly hitting the cyclists. Finally, some legislation has passed on the behalf of cyclists and their safety. Another piece of biking law changed as cyclists have the right of way when using a bike lane and cars must yield to the right of way.
