Motorcyclist Dies in Paulding Crash Due to Drunk Driver

A deadly Paulding crash on August 5, 2011 claimed the life of Patrick Sebastian Smith. Authorities have reported that the Georgia State Patrol is still investigating this fatal wreck.

According to officials, 23-year-old Joshua Michael Mosley, of Dallas, was arrested by the Paulding Police following the crash. Reports indicate that the deadly accident occurred just before midnight on Cadillac Parkway.

It appears that Mosley was driving a Pontiac G6 when he turned into the path of a motorcycle driven by Smith.

Mosley had two passengers in his car, including his 16-year-old brother. There is no word on the medical conditions of the car's occupants.

According to the Paulding County Sheriff's Office, Mosley faces multiple charges in connection with the crash, including driving under the influence of alcohol, violation of open container laws, vehicular homicide in the first degree, and failure to yield at a sign.

Mosley was sent to the Paulding County Jail.

Sadly, Smith's was the second death to occur on county roadways this week, following the loss of six-year-old Derrick McNeal on Highway 278 at Lake Road earlier in the week.

Kalka & Baer would like to extend our condolences to the family and friends of the deceased, and we would like to remind Atlanta drivers of the dangers of drinking and driving.
