JULY 2011 NEW LAW: DRIVERS MUST YIELD THREE FEET TO BICYCLISTS

Georgia is the 18th State to adopt a law mandating the automobiles, cars, and trucks give three feet to cyclists. The former Georgia Law only required that drivers keep a safe distance. This former law was ambigious at best. Now, Georgia Bicyclists are much safer from everyday traffic. This is the first major changge since to the state's safety laws since the 1970s. People are riding more and more due to increased gas prices and excercise awareness. The Three Feet Rule will make Georgia Much Safer.
