Teenagers Killed in Jonesboro Pedestrian Crash

On Thursday, August 25, 2011, a fatal Georgia pedestrian accident occurred on Georgia Highway 138 in Jonesboro. Sadly, two teenagers were killed after being struck by a car along the highway, just south of Atlanta.

According to officials, three teenagers were walking in the emergency lane of Georgia 138 on Thursday afternoon when they were struck by a car. A Lithonia woman was driving the car that crashed into the teenagers. Authorities said that they do not know why the car veered off the road.

Antonious Biship, 16, and 17-year-old Octavious Sorrels both died after being hit by the car. A third teen was hospitalized for the injuries she sustained.

Priscilla Johnson, 48, was identified as the driver. According to the Clayton County police, she faces multiple charges, including homicide by vehicle and driving under the influence.
Following this deadly Georgia pedestrian accident, all lanes on Highway 138 were blocked, including the ramp from Interstate 675 northbound to Highway 138 for an investigation.

A preliminary hearing for Johnson will occur on September 1st.
