ATV's are More Dangerous than Motorcycles
KLF ATV According to researchers at Johns Hopkins University, crashed involving ATV's are significantly more dangerous that motorcycle crashes. Researchers found that victims of ATV accidents are 50% more likely to die of the injuries sustained than similarly injured victims of off-road motorcycle crashes. ATV crash victims were also 55% more likely than motorcycle crash victims to be admitted to a hospital intensive-care unit, and 42% more likely to be placed on a ventilator. Even though most people think that 4 wheels are safer than 2, this is simply not true as people involved in ATV crashes are far more likely to die or suffer serious trauma. The growing popularity of ATV use has led to a steep increase of injuries from their use. In 2007 there were almost 151,000 injures from ATV's. Researchers admit that they don't really know why ATV crashes lead to greater injury and mortality.
