We recently reported on a fatal Forsyth County crash that took place on Highway 53. Just days later, on Friday, July 20, 2012, a second fatal head-on collision occurred—on the same road, during the same week. This was the sixth head-on accident in the county since May.
The crash took place near the bridge that connects Forsyth and Hall counties on Highway 53. According to police, Annette Woodard, 66, of Flowery Branch, was killed in the accident, which occurred around 9:51 a.m. Friday morning.
Police indicated that Woodard was driving a black Cadillac SRX, traveling west on Highway 53, when her vehicle collided into a Cintas Service Transport delivery truck. Crash scene investigators determined that the Cadillac crossed over the center line and struck the delivery truck, driven by Carl Vest, 56, of Sugar Hill.
The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office reported that, upon impact, the delivery truck caught on fire. Vest was taken to Northside Hospital-Forsyth in Cumming for treatment of burn injuries he received in the crash.
Woodard died at the accident scene.
The Cumming personal injury lawyers at Kalka & Baer extend their condolences to the family and friends of Annette Woodard and wish Carl Vest a full and fast recovery.
