Motorcyclist Suffers Head Injury in Georgia Motorcycle Crash

On Sunday, January 29, 2012, a deadly Georgia motorcycle crash in East Hall County occurred claiming the life of a Lula man. According to the Georgia State Patrol, the Sunday afternoon motorcycle crash took place on Bryant Quarter Road, and law enforcement was on scene by 4:20 p.m.

When emergency crews arrived at the accident scene, they found the motorcyclist critically injured and requested a helicopter due to the nature of the injuries sustained. An emergency helicopter flew to the scene to airlift the injured motorcyclist to Atlanta Medical Center for medical treatment.

Gordy Wright, a Georgia State Patrol spokesman, said that the motorcyclist has been identified as James Michael Poole, 53, of Lula. He also indicated that Poole had suffered a head injury during the motorcycle crash. Apparently, Poole was traveling eastbound on Bryant Quarter Road when he lost control of his motorcycle and slid on the roadway.

Sadly, Poole died from the critical injuries he sustained in this motorcycle wreck; he passed away at the hospital on Sunday. Funeral services were held on Wednesday at the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home, in Gainesville, and burial in Harmony Hall Baptist Church Cemetery.
