Three people were injured in a Canton car crash on Monday, July 2, 2012. According to authorities, two women and one man were taken to area hospitals following the afternoon accident on Knox Bridge Highway. Two were transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital, and one was taken to Grady Hospital for medical care.
This Knox Bridge Highway accident occurred just west of Fire Station 13. Tim Cavender, the Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services spokesman, said “a burgundy Ford Explorer left the highway and flipped several times before landing down an embankment.”
When emergency crews arrived on the accident scene, they discovered that a 28-year-old male driver and 38-year-old female passenger were trapped inside the car, and that a 30-year-old unidentified woman was found lying on the ground near the car. Emergency crews were not sure if the 30-year-old was ejected from the vehicle or if she got out of the automobile on her own following the crash. The other two had to be extricated from the car.
The 38-year-old female was transported to Grady Hospital in Atlanta and was being treated for right elbow fractures and an 8-inch laceration to her right leg. The other two were taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, and there injuries are unknown at this time.
The Georgia State Police are still investigating the cause of this single-vehicle accident at this time.
