A Clayton County police officer had to be airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital on January 6, 2011 when a large truck hit the officer's patrol car from behind while traveling on I-675. The accident happened near the Anvil Block Road exit on southbound I-675. The truck rear-ended the police car while following too closely. The police car didn't stand a chance next to the five ton box truck. Thankfully, after being examined by doctors at Grady Memorial, the officer was listed as in stable condition. The truck driver was charged with following too closely and driving too fast for conditions.
