In 2009 a resident from Sandy Springs had his Ford Expedition self-ignite causing extensive damage to the resident's garage, kitchen, home office and carpets. The resident reported the damage to Travelers Insurance Company. Travelers initially sent out someone to access the damage and board up the burnt out area. Travelers next sent out an adjuster who offered the resident a check for 1/3 of the total damages. The resident has refused to accept Traveler's pay out and has instead hired a public adjustor to handle his claim. Five months later this dispute is still not resolved and the resident basically cannot use his kitchen. Thankfully, we understand that Travelers has since appropriately resolved this matter.
