A newly married woman died in a tragic Atlanta car accident on Sunday, April 24, 2011. According to authorities, the wreck happened on the I-285, in the outer loop on the west side, just before 7 p.m.

The Sunday evening deadly rollover crash occurred when a tractor-trailer truck plowed into the Nissan sedan that the newlywed was traveling in. When the semi struck the Nissan, it sent the car into the guardrail on I-285. The car bounced off the barrier wall and into traffic, where it was struck by the cab of another semi.

When rescue crews arrived on the scene, they had to use the Jaws of Life to get the occupants out of the Nissan sedan. The woman died at the scene, and a man also in the car was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries. Reports indicate that the man has non-life threatening injuries.

The truck drivers involved in this deadly crash were unharmed.

All of the southbound lanes of Interstate 285 were closed for over two hours so that police could conduct a thorough investigation.

Police indicated that the car was struck by the first tractor trailer when the truck was trying to change lanes. Authorities announced that 51-year-old Jack Parsons, the driver of the tractor trailer, has been charged with vehicular homicide and improper lane change.

The Kalka Law Group would like to wish the man injured in this crash a full recovery and would like to send condolences to the family, friends, and groom of the newlywed bride who was killed.
