Cobby County Hit and Run Bicycle Accident

Cobby County Hit and Run Bicycle Accident

A hit and run leaves a Cobb county school teacher adamant that the county needs more bike lanes. Carrie Kane, a 43 year old school teacher did not remember anything about her bicycle crash that caused a concussion. She was riding to school as she had been for the previous 18 months when she was struck by a passing motor vehicle in April of 2011. The police found a side mirror t the scene and used this to continue looking for the car that hit her.
Mrs. Kane expressed frustration when she explained that she does not know any other precautions she could have taken. She explained that she has reflectors and lights all over her bicycle. Her neighborhood even complains that her bike is too bright. She believes the answer to greater bicycle safety is one that must come from County officials. Kane believes that the hostility towards bikers that comes from motorists can only be fixed by making these bikes lanes to help get cyclists out of the way of motorists.
