A Fulton County car accident claimed the lives of two men.
On Wednesday, October 12, 2011, a single-vehicle accident in Fulton County critically injured one woman and killed two men. Authorities said that the crash occurred around 12:30 PM on Orkney Road at Loch Lomond Trail.

According to officials, a 2001 Toyota Echo was traveling west on Orkney Road when it went off the road and hit a tree. Police indicated that the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing the front of the car to hit the tree head-on. The right rear passenger door hit another tree. The driver was able to get out of the car, but the three other occupants were trapped inside.

Gene Chandler Stephens, 19, was driving at the time of the accident, according to the incident report. He was issued a citation for driving without his license and now faces a second-degree vehicular homicide charge.

The two men killed at the scene were 19-year-old Daniel Watson and Jonathan McCoy. Stephens broke his arm and was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital. Vanessa Rea Erines Faruk-Meyer, 17, of Atlanta, was the front seat passenger. She sustained critical injuries and was taken to Atlanta Medical Center. Her condition is unknown at this time.

A court date has been set at the Fulton County Magistrate for December 21st.

We at The Kalka Law Group are deeply saddened to hear about these fatalities and would like to extend our condolences to the victims' families and friends.
