Three People Sent to Hospital after Deck on Atlanta Home Collapses

Three People Sent to Hospital after Deck on Atlanta Home Collapses

Eight people were involved in an accident at an Atlanta home on Thanksgiving night, when the deck they were standing on collapsed underneath them. According to reports, it appeared that a portion of the deck closest to the home separated causing the deck to fall to the ground. Of the eight people involved in the deck collapse, three were sent to the hospital after sustaining non life-threatening injuries. The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation, however the woman renting the home said she had only moved in a few weeks earlier and had no prior knowledge of any problems.

According to Georgia Law, a deck collapse falls under the same category as a premises liability accident. Due to that fact, any injuries sustained in such an accident should be covered by the property owner's insurance policy. That is why it is important to consult with an experienced personal injury attorney at Kalka & Baer as soon as possible after the accident.
