Dekalb County accident lawyer reports on rise of hit-and-run accidents. Sadly, fatal hit-and-run accidents are on the rise in Georgia. In the month of November alone, there were two tragic DeKalb County hit-and-run accidents.

The most recent occurred last Wednesday, when a 53-year-old Jonesboro man, Erron Butler, was struck and killed while crossing Moreland Avenue near I-285. DeKalb County police indicate that the driver of a white Chrysler Sebring is responsible for this fatality, and are seeking him out to hold him accountable for the hit-and-run.

Prior to this Georgia hit-and-run crash, another fatal DeKalb County accident took place just two weeks before on November 16, 2011. This accident set off a string of crashes, eventually costing two men their lives.

A Covington man and a Stone Mountain man died in a chain-reaction crash that was caused from a trucker hitting a Ford Focus near the East Ponce de Leon Avenue overpass. When the Ford was hit, it lost control and struck a Toyota Camry. Both drivers got out of their vehicles and were hit by an oncoming car. The truck driver then fled the scene of the crash. Police are still looking for the truck driver responsible for these two fatalities.
