Driver Under the Influence of Drugs Causes Five Car Crash in Atlanta

On the weekend of October 19-20, 2013 in Atlanta, a man was spotted by a WSB-TV news crew on the highway, drooling and slumped over in his pickup truck. They started rolling footage of the man who appeared not only fatigued, but also potentially under the influence of alcohol. One of the news reporters called 911, but before they could arrive, an employee of the Georgia Department of Transportation approached the truck to talk with the driver. He tried to remove the keys out of the ignition of the truck, but the driver awoke with a start and drove away quickly after arguing with the worker.

After pulling away, the news camera was still rolling and caught the driver as he reamed into two other cars, resulting in a five car collision. Before police could show up at the scene of the accident, the man proceeded to run out of his car, hopped over a fence and fled the scene. While no one was hurt this time, there was still significant property damage caused. In the event that there were injuries, the man would have been responsible for paying compensation, as he is more than likely at fault for the collision. On October 26, 2013 they caught the man who had been hiding out in a hotel, fearing arrest. He is being accused of drug charges.
